German Mittelstand (SMEs) companies are keen to partner with India in its growth story in Electronics, IT and ITES sectors within the Make in India, Digital India and Start-Up India mission. This was a major take away from a Special Seminar organised by the Embassy of India, Berlin during CEBIT 2017 which focussed on the “Opportunities in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) & India’s Digitalisation Mission” in which large number of exhibitors from Germany and India participated. CEBIT is world’s leading Trade fair for IT and Electronic Industry. The focus of the Seminar was to present the opportunities in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing to the German companies and also to showcase the unique steps taken by the Govt. of India in field of Digitalisation, development of Start-Up ecosystem and the opportunities these sectors throw for the German Mittelstand.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Abhishek Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission highlighted the key initiatives taken by the Indian government towards creating the pro-business environment in India. He urged the companies to take full advantage of the local Fast Track Investment Promotion and Business Support Program - Make in India Mittelstand (MIIM) which the Embassy of India is running since September 2015. He highlighted that India needed high tech partners like German companies particularly in core focus technology areas like Electronics Manufacturing, Telecommunication, Medical electronics, Smart devices sector etc. MIIM program is an exclusive business support Program being run at the Embassy of India in Berlin to provide hand holding investment promotion services to the German Mittelstand (SMEs) who intend to enter and invest in India.
