Community Affairs
People to people contact between India and Germany, which commenced in the year 1505 through commercial links, has grown ever since. Visits to Germany by Indian leaders like Swami Vivekananda, the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had enabled bridging the cultures between the two countries in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi also made a great impact pursuing the path of non-violence in the struggle for independence. It is our desire that the members of the Indian community and the Embassy work together in further strengthening the Indo-German relations. It would be appreciated if the NRIs/PIOs in Germany could forward their particulars to the Embassy and also on Indian Associations, so that they could be contacted or informed of developments concerning overseas Indians.
